Determining the Number of Brackets: When using the brackets for shelves or mantels with a load less than 100lbs, you can space the brackets on every other wall stud. For heavier items such as Bars, Countertops, Benches, Cabinets, or Vanities, it is recommended to use a bracket on every wall stud, spaced at either 16" or 24" depending on the framing method used.
